SUMMARY:PreKC Presentation
DESCRIPTION:We are excited to announce that we are moving into the presentation phase of our Pre-KC campaign - an educational initiative to raise awareness about the importance of quality early childhood education throughout the region. Far too many of our region's kids are disadvantaged by not being socially\, emotionally\, or cognitively ready for kindergarten.\n\n\n\nWhy should businesses care? Because it's a long-term workforce issue. Here's how the US Chamber explains it: "With more than half of our 4th graders scoring below grade level in reading and math\, the businesses of tomorrow will not be able to employ the students of today."\n\nSince 2014\, the enhancement of quality early childhood education is one the Chamber's Big 5 ideas because a growing Kansas City requires a vibrant workforce. That kind of workforce starts with ensuring that every area child is given an opportunity to succeed in school through kindergarten readiness. As a way to help lead in this important effort\, the Chamber this spring launched the "Pre-KC" project.\n\n \n\nNow is the time for this very important conversation in the Kansas City area involving the future of our workforce\, and we'd like you to become a part of the dialogue! We will be hosting two informational meetings at the KC Chamber offices that we would love to have you attend. These informational meetings are open to your entire workforce.
