More recently\, South Korea led the world by being the first to sign free trade agreements (FTAs) with all three centers of the global economy: the United States\, the European Union\, and China. This talk explores these South Korean successes. One thread throughout the presentation is how U.S. containment policy\, and the U.S. presence in Asian geopolitics more generally\, influenced South Korean economic history and the Korean FTA strategy.\n\n \n\nAdmission is free.
